We propagate our Guangzhao Fast Growing Poplar using a tissue-culturing process. It involves isolating a small piece of plant material, known as an explant, from the leaf or bud of a parent plant and placing it on a nutrient base after it has been treated. Several shoots will grow from the explant which is then further subdivided until the shoots can individually be cultivated into seedlings that can be transferred to soil to grow.
Our tissue-culture process does not involve genetic modification. This important fact has been verified by the Shanghai Institute For Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy Of Sciences.
Tissue-culturing allows the fast propagation of plants in large quantities, carrying similar characteristics as the parent plant. We have a set of tissue culture process that allows us to produce tissue-cultured seedlings in around 150 to 160 days with relatively high rates of survivability.
Through our tissue culture process, we are able to produce seedlings on a massive scale. At our tissue culture laboratory at Fanjia Village , Malu Town , Jiading District, Shanghai , we have the capacity to produce up to six million Guangzhao Fast Growing Poplar seedlings per annum.
